Ariel Rauk, Design Technician, of Snyder & Associates, will present at the 2016 Iowa Digital Design & Engineering Applications (IDDEA) Fall Conference on October 6 at Iowa State University in Ames, IA. The focus of Rauk’s presentation will be how complex alignments and geometry can be combined to create a realistic animation by utilizing Bentley MicroStation and Luxology rendering.
Starting with a MicroStation 3D model, Rauk will cover the methods used to create a realistic animation including:
- Placing and animating traffic
- Adding the surrounding landscape
- Adding and scripting actors
- Render settings
- How to combine all elements in Adobe Premiere Pro
Hosted by the IDDEA Board, the annual IDDEA Fall Conference serves as a unique learning opportunity for individuals in the CAD and GIS industries. All attendees are IDDEA members, an independent user group of employees from city and county government, utility companies, engineering and consulting firms, universities and other area colleges, and the IOWA DOT.
Full and half day workshops will take place before and after the conference on October 5 and 7. Steve Zeets, an Iowa licensed land surveyor with over 20 years of experience, will provide the Keynote Address on the use of drones for engineering projects. Over 200 people are expected to attend, with sessions for beginner through advanced users, to meet everyone’s needs. Sponsored by Bentley and others, the IDDEA Fall Conference has showcased best practices, MicroStation, GEOPAK, and the future of design and analysis for over 15 years.
